My friend that I grew up with in Australia has been here visiting for the last 2 months. When ever she comes to my home for dinner or a visit she brings me flowers. I've had fresh flowers in my home for the last 2 months. It's been wonderful.

Doesn't everyone love fresh flowers?

This is a fun idea to make for birthday gifts. My daughters friend had a birthday and we thought she would like this candy bouquet. We were right! Her mom said everyone was trying to take the candy but the birthday didn't want anyone ruining her bouquet. Here are a few suggestions. I put that green sponge called oasis in the bottom of a colored plant pot. I then taped (I used packing tape) candy bars to skewers and placed them where I wanted them in the oasis. I cut tissue paper and taped it to the end of a skewer and placed those in between the candy bars to hide the sponge and the sticks. It was a fun project!

I thought I'd show a cabinet I've been working on. This…

Alpine Days 2010

Here they are! Paula and Sherry doing what they do best at Alpine Days. They run the quilt show and as you will see it is fabulous. There is so much talent in this little area.
Fresh strawberries for the happy quilters to offset hunger pains from a long day of visiting with all those wonderful Alpine people.

First before I show the Alpine Quilts I wanted to show a table runner that I helped my Clancy do for one of her favorite teachers at Timberline. This teacher made such a difference in her life that I felt like she really needed to know how much she was appreciated and loved.

This is a wonderful quilt of color by Jody Jorgensen.

This beautiful quilt is one of Nanette Merrills from Freda's Hive.

Creating with Zippers

A sneek peak at some fun things I am creating with zipper by the yard. Riley Blake Designs has zipper by the yard. This means there is no beginning and no ending. There are 10 great colors to choose from. I am making these flowers to place on purses and clothing projects that I have in the works. The fabric line I am using is Summer Song which is also made by Riley Blake Designs.

This is a pincushion and sewing room decor that I am working on perfecting right now. Don't you love the bright fun colors of pink, orange and green together. Embellishments are the icing on the cake.

I will show more fun things that I am working on as I get them finished.

Happy Sewing!

July Alpine Quilt Group

We have the best show and tell at our quilt group. This is a quilt called "Going to Market" just finished and ready to be quilted by Bonnie Miles. I think that black and white stripe makes this quilt.

This is a fabulous quilt by Helen Butler. Her workmanship is exquisite.

This is the back of a quilt that flora did for her bedroom. It's a great fabric.

This is the front of the quilt. It's beautiful!

This is a beautiful quilt by Jill Finley. My picture doesn't do it justice from the side.

This is another one of Nanette's fantastic jelly roll quilts. Look at all those great vintage prints. She really does a great job of coordinating fun prints to give this wonderful vintage feel to her quilts.

This is one of Flora Gillman's fun quilts she did with Sandy Clop fabrics. A very simple but fun way to use a border print.

Now here begins the show that was done by American Quilting Store owner Amy. I couldn't take pictures of everything so I'm just showing a few …
